The Reference Centre recognizes that the technology listed below will not meet the needs of all users. However, our commitment to inclusive accessibility will ensure that when we are not able to immediately accommodate a patron, we will, to the best of our ability, work towards presenting options that meet their specific need(s). With this in mind, we expect our list of tools and procedures to grow as new needs are discovered.

Software

The software in our Reference Centre includes:

• JAWS screen reader
• NVDA screen reader
• MAGic screen magnifier with speech, Windows Magnifier
• Windows On Screen Keyboard
• Windows Narrator
• GEM and OpenBook scanning and reading software for the TOPAZ HD XL Desktop Video Magnifier

The hardware in our Reference Centre includes:

• 23” touch screen computers
• Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 headphones with microphone
• 3M™ EM550GPS Wireless Ergonomic Optical Mouse
• Kensington® Orbit Optical Trackball
• MAGic Large Print Keyboard with shortcuts
